Tournament consists of four sections:
- Open: Open to any registered member of the W.C.U. or Other National Body.
- Major: As above, but restricted to players with a published grade of 1800 (BCF 150) or below.
- Minor: As above, but restrcited to players with a published grade of 1500 (BCF 112) or below.
- Reserves: As above, but restrcited to players with a published grade of 1250 (BCF 112) or below.
