Rate of play: 40 moves in 2 hours then all moves in 30 minutes
Bye: Competitors may claim up to two half point bye in any of the first seven rounds provided this is requested with entry.

Tournament consists of four sections:

  • Open: Open to any registered member of the W.C.U. or Other National Body.
  • Major: As above, but restricted to players with a published grade of 1800 (BCF 150) or below.
  • Minor: As above, but restrcited to players with a published grade of 1500 (BCF 112) or below.
  • Reserves: As above, but restrcited to players with a published grade of 1250 (BCF 112) or below.

Prize Fund and entry fees:

  • Open:        Entry fee: £20     1st: £250    2nd:£130    3rd:£65
  • Major:        Entry fee: £18     1st: £140    2nd:  £70    3rd:£35
  • Minor:        Entry fee: £16     1st: £125    2nd:  £60    3rd:£30
