Three sections: Open, Major (U-1850), Minor (U-1500)

All players in the Open and Major Events must be registered with the Welsh Chess Union or their respective national body.

Qualifies for Brish Chess Federation Grand Prix.

Prize Fund

• Open: 1st:£200, 2nd: £75, 3rd: £50 (grading prize of £20 will be awarded at under 2000)
• Major (under 1850): 1st:£150, 2nd: £70, 3rd: £35 (grading prize of £20 will be awarded at under 1650)
• Minor (under 1500): 1st:£120, 2nd: £60, 3rd: £30 (grading prize of £20 will be awarded at under 1300)

Entry Fees:

• Open  £19
• Major (under 1850) £17 
• Minor (under 1500) Adults - £15, Juniors £12 

Timetable:

• Round 1: Fri,     13th October  - 18:30 to 22:30
• Round 2: Sat,    14th October  - 09:30 to 13:30
• Round 3: Sat,    14th October  - 14:30 to 18:30
• Round 4: Sun,   15th October  - 09:30 to 13:30
• Round 5: Sun,   15th October  - 14:30 to 18:30

Rate of play: 42 moves in 1 3/4 hours then all moves in 15 minutes
Bye: Competitors may claim a half point bye in any of the first four rounds provided it is requested with the entry.

Bookstall: There will be a book stall at the venue.

Food & Drink: The Dolphin Hotel is situated in the heart of Swansea’s shopping centre. Therefore there are ample food outlets, pubs and restaurants near the the venue.

There is no smoking allowed in the playing hall.
